What Happens Next?

Canadians are much in demand! Positions in Ireland are usually for a one-year period; you would live in with the family, care for their children, and perform some light housekeeping duties. Work hours are generally 20 to 40 hours per week. Wages are a minimum of 55-75 Euros/week. The host family is responsible for the cost of the Work Permit.

Once you have provided a complete application package, we can forward your file to our affiliate in Ireland, for matching with potential host families. The host family will contact you directly to discuss their position, and provide written information for your perusal. You have the choice to accept or decline any position. Canadian au pairs can apply to positions in Ireland as Childminders; the host families apply for the Work Permit. It takes approximately 5 weeks to secure the Work Permit. Generally the au pair is responsible for her own airfare to and from Ireland.
