Can I Apply?

You should:

  • Prior experience in the field of Child Care (Babysitting, Daycare Worker, Nanny,  etc.)
  • Be between the ages of 18-30 years (depending on Northern or Southern Ireland)
  • Have a clear criminal record
  • Be a High School graduate
  • A Driver’s License is an asset, but is not required
  • Be willing to stay for a one year period

A Complete Application Will Include...

  • Completed application form
  • Medical note
  • ‘Dear Host Family’ letter
  • Police Clearance
  • Photocopies of relevant Certificates (High School, College, First Aid etc.)
  • 2 or 3 references with names and numbers
  • A recent Photograph (or color photocopy of your photograph)
  • The Application

What Happens Next?

Canadians are much in demand! Positions in Ireland are usually for a one-year period; you would live in with the family, care for their children, and perform some light housekeeping duties. Work hours are generally 20 to 40 hours per week. Wages are a minimum of 55-75 Euros/week. The Work Permits vary depending on Northern or Southern Ireland.

Once you have provided a complete application package, we can forward your file to our affiliate in Ireland, for matching with potential host families. The host family will contact you to discuss their position. You have the choice to accept or decline any position.
